Description

Η Ancient Elina or Dymokastro (twin castle), few kilometres south-west of Perdika and directly above Karavostasi beach, it constitutes one of the most distinctive archaeological destinations in Thesprotia. This is an impressive, fortified coastal settlement of large extent, which experienced a particular heyday during the Hellenistic period and is identified with the ancient city of Elina. Visitors have the opportunity to explore a site with a strong historical atmosphere and admire the significant finds that have been brought to light through excavations. The view from the site is truly striking, with a panoramic panorama of the sea; to the right stretches Karavostasi beach, while in the distance Corfu and Paxos can be seen, and to the left is Prapa Mali beach. Access is either by car to a certain point and then a walk of about five minutes, or via a path that starts from Karavostasi beach. A visit to Dymokastro ideally combines history, nature, and the unique charm of the landscape.
